The Android OS has so many versions and the apps depend also on the device.
The programming is not an easy task and don't forget that all start from a pc program and the port to Android is totally different. It happens that some times new features may break some old codes.. The difficult part is to make all work well. This is a rule for the Android OS in general, that is impossible make an app that will work 100% well for all the OSs and mobiles. And this is the stupid thing that Google very often gives new versions again and again and the apps loose their compatibility..
So pls be patient and I'm sure that Tony will fix the issues soon..

Later I had some time this will add screens with these problems. Will show you that my widgets and widget Jimking work on my 1.0.3 and 1.0.4 do not work on

Tony suggests that my widget is too large. But it does not matter if running on 1.0.3. I think that Tony introduced to limit the size, then you will have all the widgets remodel. : (

Can you help to found the CrashLog? etc: open folder "sdcard/XWidget/crash/" and you will find some .log file (etc: 2014-7-6.log) ,please open these log and copy text and sent to me ,thanks

Crash log occurs only when changing icons, but not always.
I wrote about it here:

That's what we're talking, there is no crash log. This is a problem with the display and operation.

As you can see, to version 1.0.3 everything works perfectly. On 1.0.4 does not work at all.

I can not explain to you more simply, I gave screens, I wrote everything.

From what I see, a manual search using the database AccuWeather, but not quite.
For example:

This does not search, but searches for example:
http://www.accuweather.com/pl/pl/zlotok ... ast/274657
It is also a small village.

Conclusion. XWidget does not search all the small location.

Top this problem is solved in Fancy Widget. There, everything works excellent in terms of location and association with Accuweather.

Is not fully true..
Using the manual search I can find my location (with 70.000 people). Trying with geolocation I receive no results or a city 30km away.
So I think that there is a generic problem, not only with the small cities..

1.04 installed. same as 1.03 - fix the location issue and it's a daily driver. some of the best looking widgets I've seen

Dev is working to repair errors. Wait for the next version.

Still having trouble with downloading weather on my phone.

- The PC is OK.
- AccuWeather application OK
- Fancy Widget OK
- Xwidget - no working: (

Now I at 06:04 on the night, although the window beautiful sunshine. Last updated from the server 22:35 but writes "Weather has been updated"!

Conclusion:
We continue to improve the following errors:
- Autolocation
- Downloading weather

Hi. I want to link an app to a custom hotspot in widget. How am i supposed to do that? Any help? I found out how to add hotspot in the android editor and how to select my preferred area.Then i found click event.It says open but what i should write in order to open an app?My thought is to open clock app when i press clock in widget,diary when i press date in widget and a weather app when i press weather in widget.Any help please?Thank you and sorry for my English.

when you add your widget to screen and tap it for the first time, XWidget will ask you to choose the app you want to open.

You set up a hotspot, you have to add also the core - shortcut

- Cleaning of the last places in the whole or a single choice

Option to enable or disable the refresh autolocation widget
Sometimes we are in one place for a long time so you do not need to refresh every weather also refresh the location

for autolocation, you need to add GPS permission I believe.
The widget would need to have GPS permission to be able to use phone's GPS.

If this is the case have it back to Fancy Widget. He works on 2.3.6 and there everything works, including autolocation.

This can't be changed..? Personally I have 4.0+ and yes I know that OSs like Slavoo's 2.3.6 are too old, but as you see there are still people with old phones..

@Slavoo: We speak about two different cases! You can't compare Fancy Widgets with XW! FWs has only weather/digital clock widgets. Instead of XW is a pc program port on Android with cores,tags. And in the future updates will support even calendar,photo album etc. So there is no sense to compare..
And in the other hand, hey man..... Android 2.3.6 is tooooo old nowdays!!!
I have my first Android phone SGS and I upgrated to 4.4.2 Cyanogenmod and works more than fine!
This rom uses even less ram than the old 2.3.6! Also you lost the 80% of the Android apps!
Just UPGRADE!!

I do not believe that you can not fix autolocation on 2.3.6! If you could do it in a Fancy Widget that works on 2.3.6 you can do here.

Tony did the dumbest thing you can do. He took the best widget hundreds of thousands of users with older phones in the world !!!

The only sensible solution is what I see:
- Repair autolocation version 1.0.4 and release a version for Google Play.
- Making a brand new Xwidget 2.0.0 for Android 4.0 + and also adding to Google Play.

It will satisfy all.

Repair autolocation for 2.3.6 and will be OK.
Let it works as it should. And this moment is one of the lacunae.

It's easy and you will don't spoil your phone! The phone is old and you have no guarantee anyway. Make a good backup and with three steps you will have a new phone. And if anything goes wrong, with the hard reset you will have the same rom as before.
When I bought my first android on 2010, I didn't know a damm. Then searching on blogs and forums you can find and learn anything!
Don't be afraid!! Also there are a LOT of videos/tutorial on YouTube..
You will have your old Samsung Galaxy S Plus with Android 4.4.2 KitKat!

Manual search function. You have to enter the name of the town or district in the city and is downloading info from AccuWeather!

It does not work autolocation different locations. I do not want every time when I change the location manually re-look. I want the widget itself found my location.

I live in Poland, in Warsaw. When I press the button autolocation shows Warsaw. But when I type in the search neighborhood that it finds, as well as searches for smaller cities. Autolocation does not.

Do you understand what I write?

On my SGS I have installed the C11 cyanogenmod and all parts works properly, and NO BATTERY issues! Where you read that "Everyone says that consumes a lot of battery.."
You only need the "ES Explorer" app to make a backup of all your apps, then check if your phone has unlocked the 3-buttons download/recovery mode, you download the zip file with the rom, put it into your phone with usb, and with a simple process that you can find everywhere on youtube or XDA, put your phone in download mode and the rom will be installed..
Anyway....

Continue your discussion with Tony, about the GPS/location that's more important..!

Xwidget does not search for anything or show a big city. In my case, Warsaw. It does not matter whether or not GPS enabled.
Small town does not show at all.

As I wrote, it works just manually typing the name.

I do not know how it is solved for example in Fancy Widget or Accuweather but according to the test that you gave me, almost every time shows a slightly different coordinates, but strictly within the same location or within a radius of several tens of meters, it is the difference up to 100 meters according to my assessment looking at a Google map.
Can see what data can be assigned, for example, to place "Mariensztat (Masovia Poland)" or another as shown in the pictures in my post above with pictures of Accuweather. I do not know if this is certainly coordinates, but I think so, because the test works great!

Open the designer, add a text component and write any text (fill all the space).
Open the sub-menu "Format" and test the various options of the "trimming style" to see what happens..

How do you test?

Please test as this:
1. Uninstall XWidget
2. Install last version of XWidget's apk
3. Make sure you had checked the Option of Phone SystemSetting-->Location-->Use wireless networks
4. add a Weather widget onto your desktop/launcher,then it will autolocation after 1-5 seconds.
5. Or open ChangeLocation activity and click top-right button to start location.

This is a full functional widget. I tested adding a custom txt with trimming enable, and after I updated the widget on my phone, this "image" appeared. Like the transparent space of the designer filled with black.android.xwidget.com/page/widgets/weather/2014/0714/Next_Weather_Mod.html
