To solve the problem of recent versions of Android killing or freezing widgets and animated clocks, why not have a persistent notification?
This seems to work for other apps, such as weather channels and lockscreens, and should be relatively easy to implement. It would also save users from having to constantly delve into their battery optimization and system cleaner settings.

The dev added a notification window that appears on the first run installing XWidget. Also has been written in the description of the app on PS since from the first moment. Also exists in the FAQ app's menu for very long time, with the instructions. (!)

For who uses XWidget for a long time adding a persistent notification it will be only annoying. After Android 6.0 the OS became more aggressive and especially on 8.0 and 9.0 it's a must have for apps like XWidget or the rest as you mention.
Unfortunately many users are lazy to read the descriptions or open all the options bypassing all the above.

The case is to be solved, because eg the Messenger is working properly, the battery optimization is off, all calls come immediately.

Slavoo, sorry but your example is totally out of topic. Yes XWidget needs optimization for the Android 9.0 but there is NOTHING comparable between Messenger and XWidget!
You can't compare how it works a communication app with a widget customization app (!)
It's like compare a shoe with a fork just because both are used by humans!
